IV International Scientific and Practical Conference “Key trends in uroandrology”
The largest conference of the forum: more than 220 participants from Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
On 19 and 20 September 2025 the Alma-Tau mountain resort in Shymkent hosted the 4th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Key trends in uroandrology”. More than 220 people took part, from cities across Kazakhstan and from Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
The conference was opened by the Rector of the Academy, Zhanna Seitzhanova; the Chief Urologist of the Ministry of Health, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences and President of the Association of Urologists of Kazakhstan, Myrzakarim Alchinbaev; the chairman of the board of the National Scientific Centre of Urology, Anuar Amanov; the head of the Turkestan region health department, Askhan Baidualiev; and the head of the Shymkent health department, Saule Duisenbayeva.
Keynote papers were given by Academician Myrzakarim Alchinbaev; Professor Alexander Strotsky of the department of urology and nephrology at the Belarusian State Medical University; Zaida Gadzhieva of the National Medical Research Centre for Urology at Sechenov University; Professor Bulat Shalekenov; and leading regional specialists.
The programme was divided into the sections Urology 2025, Current issues in uroandrology, Men’s health, and a two-part section on operative urology. Chief urologists from Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Russia discussed antibiotic resistance in urological infection and approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Separate sessions addressed rational pharmacotherapy across urology: stone disease, paediatric urology, andrology and urogynaecology. The operative urology section demonstrated laparoscopic, robotic, endoscopic and genital procedures.
More than 20 domestic and international pharmaceutical companies took part in the exhibition. In keeping with the forum tradition there was no registration fee, and all participants received certificates and continuing medical education credits.
III International Scientific and Practical Conference “Effective uroandrology”
The forum travelled beyond Shymkent for the first time: the 3rd conference was held in Turkestan and drew more than 217 participants.
On 20 and 21 September 2024 the Hampton by Hilton hotel in Turkestan hosted the 3rd International Scientific and Practical Conference “Effective uroandrology”, organised by the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy and the Urologists of Southern Kazakhstan public association and chaired by the Chief Urologist of the Turkestan region, Chingiz Baimenov. More than 217 people took part.
The conference was opened by Kasymkhan Sultanbekov, chairman of the Urologists of Southern Kazakhstan. The presidium included the Chief Urologist of the Ministry of Health, Anuar Amanov; Professor Bulat Shalekenov; the head of the Turkestan region health department, Askhan Baidualiev; the Rector of EMU University, Professor Asilbek Gaybullaev; the Vice-Rector of the Academy, Marlen Yesirkepov; and Professor Oleg Kurmangaliev.
Work proceeded in three sections: Turkestan, Kazakhstan and Abai. Papers covered female urology, the management of stone disease, lower urinary tract symptoms and metabolomic profiling. Each speaker was given 25 minutes, which allowed subjects to be examined in more depth than a conference format usually permits.
A competition for papers by Kazakh speakers ran across the three sections. The jury, chaired by Shyngys Baimenov, singled out the Kazakh-language paper by Nurdaulet Ashtay of N clinic, Astana. Awards for innovative papers went to Zafar Rashidov of the Tashkent Paediatric Medical Institute for his work on specialised urological care for women, Professor Kydyrali Karimbayev of the Khoja Akhmet Yassawi University for metabolomic profiling in the early diagnosis of stone disease, and Aizhan Nisanbayeva of Astana for the role of ultrasound diagnosis in testicular microlithiasis.
Delegates, partners and sponsors were honoured at a gala dinner at the Top Tobe restaurant. All participants received certificates and continuing medical education credits, and the organisers arranged a tour of Turkestan for delegates from other cities.
